THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! The Veterans' Performance
at Golden Corral Monday, Nov 16th. was a HUGE success! The staff and management of the
Golden Corral could not thank us enough and offered to support any fund-raising
effort we would like to do with them! The compliments from the dignitaries
involved were overwhelming as well. They all complimented the Marching Band
members on their respect, professionalism, and musicianship! It is performances such
as these that make the BHS Marching Band a presence in the community and draws
the support of our community members and local businesses. Both are vital to
the success of our program. November Calendars for sale - $10.00
each. Higher prizes this
month. We are finally catching up on posting our pictures!! Chapter III Championships CB West HS (viewer) (album) Here are 2 Photo Viewers (1 Horizontal, 1 Vertical) (viewer #1) (viewer #2) Courtesy of Mrs. Siebert from September 26th NJ Competitions and a Photo Album (album #1)

It was pretty quiet along Longview Avenue in Middletown Friday, until the Bensalem Marching Band, led by a clown named Smiley, burst in on a party for local Marine. Chief Warrant Officer Brian Potts, 33, was momentarily speechless as a dozen young men and women marched through the gate of his sister's backyard to perform Karl King's ' 'Hosts of Freedom.' Neighbors were equally intrigued at the sight of a clown leading a marching band through the street at 4 p.m. on a Friday. Potts, a radar maintenance worker who returns for his third tour of duty in Iraq this month, was joined by family from all over the East Coast this weekend. Potts couldn't discuss details of his next mission, which comes as U.S. troops begin a withdrawal from major cities in Iraq. Kristy Masterson hosted the carnival-themed party with clowns, field games and a dunk tank. Brian's mom Jackie Potts contacted the Bensalem High School Marching Band after visiting their Web site. Band Director Ed Downs said the group was happy to make the appearance. The school district's music program needs to perform in the community more often, he said. Still, it was tough getting everyone together in just under six days, he added. Band alumni like Matt Koppenhaver, who graduated from Bensalem High School in 2006, agreed to come back. One of about 30 members to perform Friday, Koppenhaver had to be refitted for his old uniform. "This is pretty cool - not something you get to do every day," he said, trying not to sweat in his wool uniform. Still, he was eager to be there. It's not every day, you get to throw a surprise parade, band members said. The BHS Marching Band was been asked to play some patriotic music for a deployment party for a local soldier heading off to Iraq. A few dozen musicians (including recent grads, alumni and staff) A Photo Viewer of the event can be found (here) ![]() Meet the 2009 Marching Band Staff (click here) NEW SUMMER CALENDAR AVAILABLE (click here) June 23rd Marching Band Practice Pictures (Viewer) June 23rd Marching Band Practice Pictures (Photo Album) Marching Band 1st Practice Pictures (click here) Memorial Day Parade Pictures (click here) Congratulations to the 2009 - 2010 Bensalem HS Marching Band Officers Drum Major - Mike Rivera Assistant Drum Major & Woodwind Captain Jenny Nolan Assistant Drum Major & Brass Captain Sarah Koppenhaver Pit Section Leader Kristina Barder Battery Section Leader JT Stitt Percussion Equipment Managers Mike Seborowski Jason Peers Clarinet Section Leader Taylor Myers Saxophone Section Leader John Halfpenny Mellophone Section Leader Katlyn Lawson Wishing everyone a great season!
